‘Women Empowering Women’, have you heard a sweeter phrase? Read on for an inside scoop into the Empowered Women – Learn & Connect event.

As well, leading Brisbane buyer’s agent, business founder and three-time property investor Lauren Jones shares exclusive insight into her recipe for success—something every aspiring female entrepreneur should read.

On Friday, November 8th, 2024, four female industry figureheads co-hosted the much-anticipated Empowered Women – Learn & Connect event at Brisbane’s Hamilton Hotel. Patricia Garcia from Your Vision Financial Solutions, Alex Holland from Kelly Lawyers, Sacha Millar of WBP Group Property Valuations, and of course Director of Lauren Jones Buyers Agency, Lauren Jones, joined forces to empower local women in business.

The inspirational afternoon was dedicated to empowering women to take charge of their financial futures. With experts in property, financial planning and law at the event’s helm, attendees were granted access to a wealth of practical strategies for property investment and securing financial independence.

“The event was all about helping women take charge of their financial situations. This is something I have always done, and will always do, because my financial independence empowers me,” Jones asserts.

Empowered Women – Learn & Connect Agenda

    • Key Pillars of Wealth & Security: Patricia Garcia from Your Vision Financial explored the foundations of building long-term wealth

    • Structuring for Success: Alex Holland from Kelly Lawyers provided insights into estate planning and asset protection

    • Buying an Asset, Not a Liability: Lauren Jones joined Sacha Millar of WBP Group Property Valuations to offer expert advice on making smart property purchases

For all four co-hosts, the Empowered Women – Learn & Connect event was about more than just providing useful insights. “We wanted to bring women together to network with like-minded women interested in finance and property,” Jones shares. “And it was exactly what we hoped! We had so much enthusiasm in the room and over 50 inspiring women there.”

Leading By Example: Lauren’s Recipe for Success

Lauren Jones’ own journey is testament to her focus on empowering women in business. As a QPIA-qualified buyers agent and founder of a successful buyers agency in Brisbane, Jones has built a career in helping people make better property decisions. Not only that—she has turned it into a lifestyle.

“I live by two mantras,” she shares. “Firstly, if you don’t ask, you don’t receive. I think the more questions you ask, the more answers you’ll have—and that’s something that compounds. I also think a lot of people are afraid of what the outcome might be. Generally, worst-case scenario is hearing the word ‘no’. But the best case? It’s always significantly greater.”

Jones encourages women to hold their chins high and ask as many questions as they need, to boldly seek new opportunities, and pursue any and all of their goals. For it was this mindset and this first mantra that Jones accredits majority of her success.

“I never stop learning and pushing the limits. I invest most of my free time to becoming financially literate in real estate. Whether that’s listening to podcasts, reading books, or engaging with experts like mortgage brokers and financial planners.”

For Jones, ongoing self-education and the act of seeking professional advice is the science behind her personal and professional growth.

The art of it lies in her second mantra: “Your network is your net worth.”

“I love my work, arguably too much! Pretty much all the people I surround myself with are also in the industry or are business owners. So, they get it,” Jones explains. “This can make it difficult to switch off. However, having so many like-minded experts and entrepreneurs around me is a goldmine of support.”

For Jones, co-hosting the Empowered Women – Learn & Connect event was a means of recreating this goldmine for other businesswomen in Brisbane. “Events like this are crucial for binding women together in making good financial decisions. It also encourages a sense of community,” Jones shares.

By sharing her expertise and creating opportunities for women to connect, Lauren continues to raise a platform for female empowerment through property investment.

“I love empowering women through helping with their property wealth creation,” Lauren shares. “Most times, I find that women can fall behind men. I want to do my part to guide them toward more informed financial decisions. Having purchased 3 properties in my twenties as a single woman, I can understand how the process may feel on their end.”

As the Brisbane real estate market evolves, women-led business events like Empowered Women – Learn & Connect can equip women with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate it.

The path to female financial empowerment is now wider and more welcoming than ever.
