Everton Park Suburb Profile

Everton Park, one of Brisbane’s most settled northside suburbs, combines a family-friendly setting with nearby rail access, a new library and strong recent growth.

An Introduction to Everton Park

Located approximately 9km north-west of the Brisbane CBD, Everton Park is a well-established suburb within the City of Brisbane. It is bordered by Everton Hills, McDowall, Stafford Heights, Stafford, Mitchelton, Gaythorne and Enoggera.

The suburb is named after Everton, the homestead of early settlers who came from Everton in Liverpool, England. The district was once known as Kedron, after Kedron Brook, and later as Bunyaville. A timber reserve was set aside in 1874, and a sawmill operated locally from 1886 to 1911. Bunyaville State School opened in 1934 and was renamed Everton Park State School in 1954. Everton Park State High School followed in 1961. The suburb was fully settled by the mid-1970s.

With extensive experience buying across Brisbane’s northside, the team at Lauren Jones Buyers Agency has deep local insight into Everton Park’s best streets, school catchments and long-term growth drivers.

Once a timber district and bush settlement, Everton Park is now a settled, family-oriented suburb. It has a new library, a strong choice of schools and easy access to nearby railway stations and shopping.

Why Choose Everton Park?

Everton Park sits on South Pine Road and Old Northern Road, two major corridors served by Transport for Brisbane bus services. Many commuters drive or cycle to the nearby Gaythorne, Mitchelton and Oxford Park railway stations. Brookside Shopping Centre in neighbouring Mitchelton is the area’s major retail centre.

The market is strong. Houses have grown by around 20% and units by around 18% over the past year. Houses take a median of 15 days to sell and units 12 days. Over the same 12 months, 126 houses and 123 units sold, so units are as active as houses.

Everton Park is predominantly residential. At the 2011 Census, more than a quarter of residents lived in semi-detached or higher-density homes, and townhouses and units remain a major part of the market. Kedron Brook flows through the suburb, so buyers should check flood overlays and the age and condition of each property individually.

Whether you’re a growing family, an upgrader or an investor seeking a well-connected northside suburb, Everton Park offers a level of convenience and value that few comparable Brisbane suburbs can match.
